Vintage Train Case Suitcase Burgundy Red Leather 1940's Luggage Makeup Carry On

Up for sale is this gorgeous vintage red train case from the 1940's or'50s. It is not marked but I believe it may have been made by the White Star company. It is similar to ones I have seen by that company in design and quality. Looking very closely I can see that the majority of the train case is covered with a woven fabric that is painted or coated with a gorgeous deep rich burgundy red surface. It is trimmed around the edges and on the handle with genuine red leather with white stitching. It shows some wear from use, the worst of which is on the back, please see the photos, where there's a linear scratch as well as a gouge that's about three quarters of an inch long and a quarter of an inch wide.

There are scuffs on the corners, as well as some scratches, worn out stitches and some tarnish on the brass. The clasps do work perfectly with no sticking. It has the monogram "MMS" on it. Inside, the lining is a beautiful red satin with a red plastic bottle holder running along the back.

The strap and loops are in good condition and none of the loops are broken. The interior lining does have some minor staining and spots as well as a darkening of the red in some of the cracks and other areas.

But there are no rips or holes or scratches, and all in all it's very clean on the inside. The mirror is in good shape as well as the clear lucite panels holding each side on. This gorgeous piece of vintage luggage measures approximately 12 in x 8.5 in tall with the handle laying down, and 9 inches deep.
